Single crystals of Sm3+ doped KBr were grown by vertical Bridgemann Stockbarger technique. The growncrystal were subjected to the characterization such as Energy Dispersive X-Ray Analysis (EDAX), Fourier TransformInfrared (FTIR), Powder X-ray Diffraction Pattern (PXRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Laser RamanScattering and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) studies. The Laser Raman Scattering and EPR studies onKBr:Sm3+ crystals irradiated with γ-rays is reported. PXRD analysis confirms that the crystals belongs to the cubicsystem with space group of Fm3m. The lattice parameters are given as follows a=b=c=6.596 Å and α=β=γ=90°. Theestimated average crystallite size is found to be 4.26μm by using Debye Scherrer’s formula. SEM image found to be theparticles are irregular lumps to nearly spherical geometry with rounded corners with various sizes from few microns to 5microns and also cluster is found. The presents of various functional groups was confirmed by using FTIR spectralanalysis. EDAX confirm the elements present in the KBr:Sm3+ crystals
