In this paper, a new topology proposes powerelectronic transformer. The power electronic transformer is asolid state transformer which replace conventional transformer. The conventional transformer has a many disadvantages such asheavy weight, large size, require toxic dielectric coolant, voltagedrop under load, sensitivity to harmonics. These disadvantagesare becoming compulsory for power quality improvement.Toovercome the disadvantages power electronics transformer isgood option for reduce it. Power electronic transformer providesa fundamentally different and more complete approach intransformer desine by using power electronics on primary andsecondary side of transformer. It has a bidirectional power flowcapability and voltage regulation. The main feature of this PETis the independent operation of modules each of which containsone port. Each port can be considered as input or output, because bidirectional power flow is provided. The modules areconnected to common dc link that facilitates to energy transferamong modules as well as port.
