Brushless DC (BLDC) Motors are widely used inindustries because of their high efficiency and high torque. Thispaper proposed PID and Fuzzy controller to control the speed ofBLDC Motor. This paper provides an overview of PID controllerand Fuzzy controller. PID controllers are insufficient to controlthe speed of BLDC motor as it gives high overshoot in theresponse. So for the better performance, intelligent controllersuch as Fuzzy is used. Fuzzy has the ability to satisfied controlcharacteristics and it is easy for computing. The experimentalresults verify that Fuzzy has better control performance thanthe PID controller. The modeling, control and effects arestudied through computer simulation usingMATLAB/SIMULINK toolbox.
