While databases store only structured data, most of thedata is unstructured like text documents, web pages, emails etc. Text mining and Data mining is what is requiredif useful information needs to be extracted from tons of text. But where to begin, what are the popular tools, whichtechniques are used, what are the features. Beginning is always the toughest, so this paper tries to explore the toolsavailable for data mining and text mining to help new researchers and practitioners in the field of data mining andtext mining.
