Petro-plastic being resistant to biological breakdown results in accumulation in the environment. The objective of thisreview is to look for an alternative which is easily disposable or say biodegradable and does not cause pollution to theenvironment. Bacterial polymer named Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) has the property similar to petro plastic such as hightensile strength, water resistant, high melting temperature, superior resistance to various solvents. Polyhydroxyalkanoate(PHA) has characteristics similar to petro plastic but are biodegradable and non toxics to environment. Ralstonia eutrophaalso known as Cupriavidus necator or Wautersia eutropha can synthesize Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) in nutrient limitingcondition by utilizing renewable environment friendly waste carbon source. Utilizing waste carbon source leads tominimization in cost of production of Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA). Environment friendly microbial polymers haveagricultural, biomedical and industrial applications
