Early detection and diagnosis of autism would help in improved monitoring of therapy and life expectancy.This research work is concerned with developing a improved Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system of autismspectrum disorders (ASDs). The proposed system utilizes the features, viz., cortical thickness measures for effectivelyclassifying autistic and healthy brain images in an early stage. The preprocessing of sMRI is carried out usingStatistical Parametric Mapping (SPM). The classification of autistic and normal brain images is performed usingsupport vector machine. The experimental results prove that the proposed ASD system gives good performance in termsof sensitivity, specificity and classification accuracy.
