This paper deals with the manufacturing and microstructure evaluation of Titanium and Tantalum alloy forbiomedical application. Much of work has been done on titanium based bio-materials till now all over the world formaking human body implants as Ti alloys are very much appropriate to be the implant material. Though, very less workhas been done on Ti-Ta alloys as Tantalum being a high melting point refractory material. In this work, Ti-30%Ta andTi-70%Ta alloys were made using arc melting process and its microstructure properties has been evaluated by ScanningElectron Microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The results have indicated that Ti-30%Ta has the α΄ phase(hcp) structure and Ti-70%Ta has the β phase (bcc) structure. SEM images also described the same results as previouslyindicated by various researchers. Thus, the microstructure phases of Titanium alloyshave been confirmed by theexperimentations.
