In this Paper the verification of suitability of Non-metallic Materials for spur gear of a sugarcane juicemachine has been carried out. And compared the results of Metallic Cast Iron with Nylon, Polycarbonate under Staticloading conditions. Polymers(Nylon, Polycarbonate) gives extra benefits compared to metallic gears like less noisevibration, low requirement of maintenance-lubrication, low cost and easy to manufacture. Gear profile model isgenerated using CATIAV5. Finite Element Method is used for Static analysis of the gear to find the Von-misses stressesand Deflections on the tooth of the gear. Analytical Method is used to calculate Deflections using Castiglione'sTheoremand Lewis equation for finding out the bending stress and values obtained are compared with simulated results.
