Chhattisgarh state is composed of handloom industries in varied districts of Northern, Central and SouthernRegion. The paper focuses on employment potential in public and private handloom sectors that is established in variousregions of Chhattisgarh. By employment potential, we mean number of workers engaged in handloom activities operatedin varied public or private handloom sectors of Chhattisgarh state. Information is collected on the basis of secondarydata. It is found that Central Region of Chhattisgarh shows higher employment potential in public and private handloomsector as compared to other regions of Chhattisgarh state. Janjgir-Champa appear as largest employment providerregarding handloom activities in whole Chhattisgarh state while Kabirdham employs least number of workers inChhattisgarh state.
