Along with the expansion in information technology and cloud computing, the load balancing is alsogetting popular in this domain. The load balancing is done with an objective to perform proper resource utilization andto prevent the under and over utilization of available resources. The major goal to organize this study is to derive areview to the concept of load balancing in cloud computing. This study also traverses the previous work that has beendone by different authors to improve the load balancing mechanisms. Various load balancing techniques also comparedand it is observed that the round robin algorithm for load balancing is much advantageous in comparison to othertechniques.
