The production process in an organization is affected by the frequent break down of equipments. There is aneed for better maintenance strategy. RCM Philosophy incorporates different maintenance techniques in an integratedmanner to increase the probability that a machine or component will function in required manner over its design life cyclewith a minimum of maintenance. Reliability Centered Maintenance can be used to create a cost-effective maintenancestrategy to address dominant causes of equipment failure. In this project it aims to identify vital equipments in the utilitydepartment of a newsprint manufacturing company to measure the reliability of vital equipments ,to understand about thecauses and effects of failure of these vital equipments. And finally formulating a maintenance strategy for vital equipmentswhich can minimize maintenance issues.
