Abstract
Facebook messages, combining messages, chat and email in real-time, the first Facebook application for use inthe manufacture of HBase. In this article, we will discuss why we choose HBase for this use case, the first improvementsmade to make ready HBase production, engineering and operational challenges along the way, and continuous work we hadto do it againin production, to improve the efficiency and reliability of HBase. We will also describe some of the other uses cases of HBasein Facebook.
