New computational methods are continuously developed in order to solve problems in different engineeringfields. One of these fields is gas turbines, where the challenge is to make gas turbines more efficient and to reduceemissions which affect the environmental balance. One of the main parts of a gas turbine that can be improved is thecombustion chamber. In order to optimize the combustion chamber, both experimental and numerical methods are calledfor. Another topic of interest is to change the mixture in combustor and analyse its effects for reducin g emissions. Thispaper describes a model of Swirl Can Type Combustion Chamber that is numerically reliable, mesh independent and fast. This paper presents a computational study of the flow field generated in Can combustion chamber and how that flow fieldconvicts through the swirler. Specifically, the efect that the flow field acting at the outlet is studied. This paper presentsthe results of computational simulations done in parallel with e experimental. In comparisons of computational predictionswith e xp e ri me nt al data, a reasonable agreement of the mean flow and generated swirling effect i n the combustor afterchanging the swirl angle, pressure loss at outlet may be changed.
