Design Methodology for Direct Displacement Based Design (DDBD) Method proposed by Priestley etal.(2007) has been presented here in IS context as an alternative to conventional Forced Based Design (FBD). Thelimitations of Force Based Design Method are highlighted. The paper attempts to design a 15 storey ReinforcedConcrete Moment Resisting frame located in Zone-V using DDBD Method. Base shear, storey shear, beamreinforcement, percentage of column steel for frame designed by DDBD are compared to conventional FBD andconcluding remarks are highlighted which shows that DDBD can be a viable design alternate.
