Abstract

In recent times, the main obstacle with the concrete constructions in case of horizontal slabs is the high
weight which limits the span. For this reason major developments of reinforced concrete have focused on enhancing the
span, either by reducing the weight or overcoming concrete’s natural weakness in tension. The bubble deck slab is a
revolutionary biaxial concrete floor system developed in Europe. It based on a new patented technique- the right way of
linking air and steel. High density polyethylene hollow spheres replace the ineffective concrete in the centre of slab, thus
decreasing the dead weight and increasing the efficiency of the floor. This system reduces dead weight of the floor slab
33%. These biaxial slabs have many advantages over a conventional solid concrete slab such as lower total cost,
reduced material use, enhanced efficiency, decreased construction time and is a green technology
