Abstract

Solar energy radiant light and heat from the sun, has been harnessed by humans since ancient times using a range
of ever-evolving technologies. Solar air heater is a type of energy collector in which energy from the sun is captured by an
absorbing medium and used to heat air. Computational fluid dynamics, usually abbreviated as CFD, is a branch of fluid
mechanics that uses numerical methods and algorithms to solve and analyze problems that involve fluid flows. The
comprehensive details of the flow field which are obtained using CFD code will help in understanding the fin behavior under
different cases and thereby suggest possible modification of solar air heater.
