Abstract

The objective of this work is to study the behaviour of RCC building and SIMCON building under
earthquake loading. In the present work earthquake load building with two different material RCC and SIMCON are
considered for comparative study of G+7, G+12, G+20 story residential building which is situated in earthquake zoneIV and for earthquake loading, the provisions of IS: 1893 (Part1)-2002 is considered. A three dimensional modeling and
analysis of the structure are carried out with the help of SAP 2000 software. Seismic co-efficient and Time history
analysis method are used for the analysis of both RCC and SIMCON structures. The results are compared and found that
SIMCON structures are more economical compared to RCC.
