This research aims to detect and monitor oil spills using expectation maximization technique using advancesynthetic aperture radar images in Gulf of Mexico. In ever year oil spill accident take place in history it was on the Gulf ofMexico in Deepwater Horizon on April, 20, 2010, with explosion in July 15, 2010. It effected on wildlife habitats andmaritime spices. To overcome this problem radar image was used for regular monitoring which improves over all oil spillproblems by various approaches. Main objective is to regular monitor spills in ocean with faster information gathering andassessment programs. This research was conducted to find out oil spill pattern, patches and tracking spills in particularareas. In expectation maximization algorithm it helps to determine maximum likelihood parameter of statistical model andhelps to find missing values exist on object.
