Flywheel is a rotatng mechanical device that is used to store rotational energy. Flywheels have a significantmoment of inertia and thus resist change in rotational speed. Flywheel development has been dominated by mobileapplication where minimizing mass is critical. The main problem with flywheel is its higher weight which results in lowerrotational speed. The main objective of this work is to study various researches done in past to reduce weight of flywheelby changing design and materials.
