Solar still is a very simple device to convert available brackish or saline water into drinkable water by use of solarstill. Due to its lower distillate output, it is not widely used in the household and industrial applications. This review paper, shows researches on solar still still based on various energy absorbing materials. Energy absorbing materials absorbs theheat of the sun during peak hours and release during off-sunshine hours for increment in distillate output.
